I never get notifications when someone text me through GHL. What am I missing? Thanks

Title: Troubleshooting Missing Text Notifications in GoHighLevel CRM

Summary:
A user in the GoHighLevel Official Facebook group expressed frustration over not receiving text notifications when contacted through GoHighLevel (GHL). They seek guidance to resolve the issue and understand what they might be overlooking. In this article, we will explore potential solutions to address this problem and offer insights for a more seamless user experience.

Article:

If you're experiencing a lack of text notifications when someone contacts you via GoHighLevel, there are a few key factors to consider:

1. Notification Settings: Ensure that your notification preferences are correctly configured within GHL. Navigate to your settings and review the various options, including notification sounds, alerts, and frequency. Double-check that you have enabled text message notifications.

2. Mobile Carrier Restrictions: Some mobile carriers impose restrictions on receiving text messages from certain sources. Confirm if your mobile carrier allows incoming messages from the GoHighLevel system. Reach out to your carrier's customer support for any necessary configuration updates.

3. Spam Filters: Occasionally, spam filters can mistakenly classify incoming GoHighLevel text messages as spam, diverting them to a separate folder. Check your spam or junk folder in your messaging app or email client. If you find any GHL messages there, mark them as “Not Spam” to ensure future messages are delivered to your main inbox.

4. Do Not Disturb Mode: Check if your phone is set to “Do Not Disturb” mode, as this setting can prevent notifications from coming through. Disable this mode temporarily to see if it resolves the issue.

5. App Updates: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the GoHighLevel app. Outdated versions may have compatibility issues leading to notification problems. Check for updates in your device's app store and install any available updates.

Is the user added to that location? Most likely you’re an agency admin and have access to the location but are not added to that location as staff.

Best bet is to add an Internal Notification sms to your number.

Then proceed to communicate via app

Make sure to include a message to yourself such as

    Contact name
    Phone
    Email

    Location Name

I do email also but I add the url but use {{contact.id}} so that I can click the link when on desktop and go straight to the client.

This allows me not to miss a message or opportunity to communicate

Do you have a focus setting on your phone? If so, make sure that LC is allowed on it. I have no issues and I don’t have any phone number assigned to me.

Don’t log in with your main agency account. You don’t seem to get messages when you’re logged in with that. Create another account for the sub-account with another email

We have a great help article on this just search notifications but it’s pretty simple your user needs to be in that subaccount.

There’s also user notifications in GHL. Log into sub account, click settings, then “my profile”. Check your notification settings there 🙂

*solution. From the agency page I had to change my user type to agency and user role to admin. Then select which sub account I wanted alerts on. I watched a help video from the ghl help window and searched “Notifications”. Thanks everyone, hope this post helps someone in the future.
